In a press conference, the general director of the INA, Alberto Bustamante, said that this production forecast for 2025 still does not consider the construction of the electric vehicle plant of the American Tesla of $5.0 billion in Nuevo León.

Theautomotiveindustry (assembly and auto parts) is one of the largest consumers of steel in the world.

From the current forecast, General Motors stands out with a production of more than 840,000 units in 2025 and Stellantis with around 680,000 units for that same year. Nissan and Ford are forecasted to produce more than 400,000 units a year each.

So far, the historical record for vehicle production was in 2017 with 3.93 million units. Last year 3.31 million were manufactured and the forecast for 2023 is 3.49 million (+5.5 percent), for 2024 it is 3.78 million (+ 8.3 percent) and for 2025 4.0 million vehicles (+5.8 percent)

The estimated value of auto parts for 2023, Bustamante said, will be $108.9 billion and for 2024, $110.4 billion, 1.5 and 1.4 percent more than the previous year.
