Japanese crude steel output up 2.7 percent in January

In January this year, Japanesecrude steel productionwas up 3.3 percent compared to the previous month and up 2.7 percent compared to January last year, totaling 9.0 million mt, according to the data released by theJapanIron and Steel Federation (JISF).
Meanwhile, in January of the current yearJapan'spig iron productiontotaled 6.92 million metric tons, rising by 5.5 percent compared to the previous month and up by 0.5 percent year on year.
