Mexico maintains fourth place in global auto parts production in 2022

With $107.6 billion in sales in 2022, the auto parts industry inMexicomaintained fourth place in the world in production, only surpassed by Japan, the United States and China, the National Auto Parts Industry (INA, business chamber) reported on Twitter today.

The chamber also reported that for this year, the value of auto parts production is $108.9 billion, 1.2 percent more than in 2022.

In 2022, the world's largest producer of auto parts was China with $498.3 billion, followed by the United States with $179.7 billion and Japan with $171.9 billion. In fifth position is Germany with $89.4 billion. In 2021,Mexicoovertook Germany and knocked it out of fourth place in the world.

The auto parts industry employs more than 800,000 workers, 9.0 times more than the vehicle assembly or production industry inMexico.
