根据土耳其钢铁制片人协会（TCUD）发布的一份声明，土耳其粗钢产量同比增长46.6％至今年4月份的330万吨。今年1月至4月期间，土耳其生产了1310万吨粗钢，同比增长16.9％。
4月，土耳其成品钢材消费增长111.5％至300万吨，而今年1月至4月期间，其成品钢材消费增加了30.8％至1200万吨，两年同比。
在特定的月份，土耳其的钢铁出口增加了35.4％至160万吨，而这些出口的价值同比增长91.4％至12亿美元。今年1月至4月期间，该国的钢材出口增加了10.1％至580万吨，而这些出口的价值同比增长43.3％至39亿美元。
4月份，土耳其的钢铁进口增加了200.8％至160万吨，而这些进口的价值同比上涨234.6％至13亿美元。今年前四个月，该国的钢材进口增加了40.5％至550万吨，而这些进口的价值同比上升了73％至42亿美元。
在今年的前四个月，土耳其的钢铁出口与进口比例下降至92.9％，从去年同期记录的112％。
根据协会的说法，考虑到土耳其钢铁生产和出口的提高，看来重点是在当地市场。Following the decrease of 43.9 percent in the country’s steel consumption in April last year amid the pandemic and the acceleration in stock growth trends amid uncertainty as regards prices, the country’s steel consumption rose by 111.5 percent in April this year leading to difficulties in the supply of some products, and also resulting in an increase in imports. It is expected that this situation will continue in May, partially softening, and that reasonable balances will be established in the markets as of June. According to the TCUD, in order to establish the mentioned balances faster, bureaucratic obstacles facing efforts to increase the capacity of the Turkish steel industry must be removed and measures must be taken to ensure that the sector returns to its position of a net exporter.
