Mexico’s trade flow of cold rolled steel coils (CRC) in January decreased 48.8 percent by value, year-over-year, totaling $116.3 million, the fifth annual drop and the third lowest in value in the last 20 months, according to SteelOrbis analysis of data from national statistics agency Inegi.
The value ofCRCimports in January was $92.3 million, 25.2 percent less than in January 2022; the eighth consecutive drop in annual variation.
CRCexports decreased 76.9 percent to $24.0 million in January, the fifth consecutive drop and lowest value level since September 2021.
Of the total value in January, imports contributed 79.4 percent and exports 20.6 percent. The average monthly trade flow ofCRCinMexicoin 2022 was $164.5 million.
