US standard pipe prices down $15 cwt. since August 1

SteelOrbis has learned that the most commonly heard spot market price forUSdomestic A53 Grade A standard pipe is now being heard at approximately $92 cwt. ($2,028/mt or $1,840/nt), FOB mill, which reflects a $15 cwt. ($331/mt or $300/nt) drop from the first week of August. Downtrending pipe prices, sources note, are largely tied to still-falling HRC prices.

Standard pipe prices have fallen by approximately 28% since June, when the market peaked at $120 cwt. ($2,646/mt or $2,400/nt), FOB mill.
